Sanbot aimed at contributing more to retail businesses

Technology has been changing the retail industry for years, and technology is about to change it again. Take for example, Amazon. The New York Post reported, “The US giant Amazon is reportedly developing the concept for a supermarket that runs with as few as three human staff” It is no longer science fiction. Robots are about to have a heavy presence in the retail industry, and bring about a technologic reformation. Qihan’s Sanbot will be a big part of that reformation.

For retail, there is no doubt that Sanbot robot is one of the stronger performers serving in the retail industry. Sanbot robots’ service in 3W Coffee, an Audi car launch event, and Saier Catering already showcases Sanbot’s capabilities. Sanbot’s capabilities have grabbed the attention of many people. Recently, in Singapore, Sanbot was invited to two big retail-tech events, Seamless and SME Day 2017.

Seamless Event was held during April 19-20th in the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre Seamless Event is a dynamic summit and large scale exhibition bringing together the converging worlds of eCommerce, retail, and payments. Seamless brings retailers into the technological reformation with new ideas, exciting innovations, and cutting edge technology.

Mr. Sterling Hawkins, an exceptional entrepreneur and investor in retail, delivered a speech at this event. Mr. Hawkins described how much the retail industry has been expanding since the 1990s. Mr. Hawkins stated, “The main job for retailing enterprises is to transform retail into a low friction, easily accessible, highly personalized, customer centric world in future.”

When Mr. Hawkins saw Sanbot at the event, he saw Sanbot as an innovation that could help transform the retail industry, and so Sanbot became Mr. Hawkins’ favorite robot. During the speech, Sanbot was invited up on stage to greet the audience and dance. Mr. Hawkins used Sanbot as an example when he was explaining how robots and other hi-tech products such as delivery drones and VR are faster in giving customers information and more acceptable than human staff to consumers.

On the same day, Sanbot was interviewed at another event – SME Day 2017. SME Day 2017 was held on April 20th, and the purpose of SME Day 2017 is to “help SMEs (or Small and Medium Enterprises) leverage technologies to streamline processes, achieve cost effectiveness, business sustainability and growth” (SME Day website, https://smeday.com.sg/).

Sanbot’s open API allows for any platform to be installed on it. More developed solutions for retail will be available thanks to Sanbot’s powerful hardware, Cloudbase technology, and open API platform. Soon, Sanbot will release the MPS (Multi-service Platform System), one of the most powerful solutions for the Sanbot robot. In addition to the strategic team-ups with IBM Watson, Nuance, Sony, Sharp, and more, Qihan Technology is pursing more teams-up with international giants for online shopping, quick payments, and more.

Technology is changing the game. “Companies are iterating not in years but in days,” Mr. Matthew Groom, Kroger Technology's general manager told the media, “We’re in a digital arms race. We’re a 133-year-old grocery chain that’s competing with companies that didn’t exist a year ago. It’s an energetic, frenzied approach to how to make our lives better and get cool stuff working." AI technology, especially the carrier intelligent robot, will play a bigger role, and contribute more to the retail industry with machine learning, computer visual, voice recognition, and natural language processing.
